Just had my rear driver's carrier go and looking to ziptie + remove death tab.

What width tie is best and how did you remove the tab so cleanly? A dremel?

Haha, good questions! This whole thread is about 90% bullshit so the answers should be interesting.

I am just about to replace my DHC. I bought a Febi version which is exactly the same as the Miele its replacing. except for name etched into the steel which pretty much means they all come form the same factory.

The amount of grease put on parts that need lubricating is pitiful. What type of grease can I use?

Synthetic grease is my choice. Spray on lithium grease is what I used. It was easier to get into the pin hole for lubrication.

A few yrs ago, my driver side handle malfunctioned as outlined in this thread.
It failed in such a way repair was not possible.

Anyway, PN 51218243615 is $120 at BMW dealer.
Febi is about $60.

Since the factory part lasted 14 yrs/130K miles, I replaced with BMW brand.
It costs a bit more and since I open the driver's door everyday, I want something reliable as I hate removing door trim lol...

That's a good price. Fcp euro is $150.
Canadian dealership the price is $220.
But with Andrew's fix even cheap ones can't break again

- I buy from Husker BMW dealer (Lincoln Nebraska) a lot.
Their prices are very good.

- In 2019, it was $100, now it is $120!

PS: Canada just taxes too much. You can buy and ship to some US address and if you are close to the border, drive over and pick it up.
