Like I said, the app is putting the signal on the Ibus with the ignition switch and not actually coding the LCM to do this.

I didn't see anyone disagree. So good on you!

Well there it is. Damn it. Now I'm back to hoping Svet and his ModLight2 will accommodate me and add the menu item. Or as you say, just some sort of android device running in the background.

Defeat is such an ugly word...

Thanks again for your help and answering all my questions PH. It sure shines a better light on things. I love this family.

So glad I ordered Resler's Ibus interface for my radio install. It's sitting here in the pile of audio equipment waiting to go in... sometime this decade I hope.

Can't wait to start playing with this.

Anybody into Arduino? If you don't want to use a relay would be pretty cool to make your own interface into the Ibus!

Yes I did some light reading on Auduino and Raspberry PI. Some really smart guys have made small CarPC units and coded these to work but just a little beyond my capabilities. That's why I am contacting [email protected]. He already has the programmable unit and just needs the menu item added if he will.

Indeed, I got the same email. I told him we will just have to spend our money with the android radio vendors and app developers. I reminded him that products are always evolving and when you do not keep up with the demands of technology, your product falls away.
