Emory 39. You are welcome. Looking back on all the problems I have had and fixed; in hindsight they seem like no big problem, but what a pain in the butt before they get resolved. Regarding the OBD 2 cable, you are right. You do need the right cable. I bought a K+DCAN cable (with the switch) from China and it has worked perfectly. What is with the picture of the Vizsla’s with the bad teeth? Must be what it feels like after we have solved so many problems with the beemers we keep buying!

Sorry for the long reply work is crazy....fixing everyone else's cars no time for mine....lol
The INPA soft software works fine as I have a 06 x5 3.0 as well...reads everything fine and I did do the 7 and 8 pin mod. I have a brand new battery the stays on a tender and keeps a 13.8v all time. I feel that the lws is out of sync with the key. As I had been able to start it prior to the fuse 13 incident...and the only issue I had was the trans failsafe. I have ordered the AK 90+ in Hope's to recode the lws. But still stuck on no response from the EGS. Codes I have pulled are.....
Autel
ABS 5A, 3A,
IKE FB, BD,
EWS OS,

INPA
LCM 60, 87, 89
IKE 251, 189
DSC 90, 58

The simple things first. I assume you have cleared your error codes and reread for errors?

With new error messages for the Lamp Check Module, Instrument Cluster and DSC/ABS Module I suspect that a low voltage situation contributed to your problem. Before trying to recode the LWS have you tried to reprogram the key fob (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVWjQMKvPyQ). Possibly a simple solution.

INPA codes are notoriously difficult to interpret by number only. A DCS 90 code could mean a lot of different things, depending on what version of INPA you are running. Could you post your full INPA readout for the codes you have listed? This could help us to narrow down the problem.

Six months later and the fix has been permanent. We had some snow on the coast and the X5 laughed at any trepidation I had. I really like this car!
