I had O'Reilly auto parts bench test the battery and as expected, it came back as a good battery. The ammeter will arrive on Tuesday so I can test for a draw. Im hoping it being intermittent, that I will have positive test results during the procedure and not have to wait for the issue to appear after testing the draw...

I bought the perfect fuse based ammeter from harbor freight. You pull a fuse plug it Into the fuse socket and put the fuse into the ammeter. Digital readout shows the amperage and can handle at least 30a. I don't have time to track down a link but from my description you'll know when you find it. I've used a few times to track down parasitic drain but it's only full size fuses I'd like to get similar for mini fuses.

Bingo yes I think so. One of the best tools I keep in my glovebox.

I will grab one from the local Harbor freight if they are open tomorrow. Great price and will definitely be much easier to test the X5 for a draw.

Picked it up this AM. So does the same concept apply with this tool? Wait for it to go to sleep and then test each fuse for a draw?

Yep. Roll down passenger window so you can reach in to turn on the ammeter without opening door.

If you lock the door, lock twice to disable the motion detector

Foxwell nt510 will set sleep mode without waiting 16 minutes

Wouldn't I do the test either in the trunk or by the glovebox with the car already in sleep mode. I can leave the hatch and the passenger door open after the car goes to sleep and start testing?

You could try to do as you describe but unplugging and plugging in fuse will possibly kick you out of sleep mode but it's a good idea to try because you can knock though a lot more fuses

I haven't gotten a chance to use the fuse tester yet as I was deleting the air suspension from the system yesterday and would like to remove all of the unnecessary items that are no longer used. I did find 2 manuals in the owners manual pouch for a Dice and some Valor multimedia iLink. Anyone familiar with these? I see a white and a black old iPod type cable in the glovebox and I will probably have to remove the glovebox to expose where these cables run from to find the module they are connected to.Name: 20210110_092433.jpg
