Yes, was very fortunate to find someone parting out a 2005 4.4 in Tacoma, courtesy of craigslist. Bought the complete front exhaust intact. See post https://xoutpost.com/1211747-post57.html

After the new cats are in, I'll sell off the old cats to a recycler. I hear they fetch around $700.

What a PITA... Definitely post pics of the new cats installed when finished.

This seems to be an almost daily occurrence in our area. Mostly Prius, but others too.

Junkies steal them because they have platinum inside.

I'm sorry to report that this has not ended well in that my current welder has determined that it's a complicated project and is going to cost around $1,400 to install the aftermarket catalytic converter to the current exhaust. I've opted to install the exhaust I bought after cleaning it up thoroughly - the cats and exhaust. I just got done installing it with 4 new O2 sensors and gaskets, and I have to say the exhaust fumes is not stinky like before (valve stem seals leak which I'd fixed a couple of years ago). I'm getting my money back for the new cats I bought. So all-in-all I'm ok but getting hit by shipping costs for the return.

Well... I'm glad that you have a relatively good outcome here. This is kind of what I expected to happen.

I'm still left with part of the old exhaust. Don't know if it's worth any thing but may be will cost me money to get rid of it.
