with 265,000 miles, I plan on keeping the 2001 X5 3.0. After owning it since 24k miles, I finally figured out how to put the window regulator nut on the outside, not the inside of the clip LOL
I work from home now so want a new car, just can't think of when or why I should buy the new X3M competition. I guess just wait. Or perhaps in a few years everything will be electric and any ICE car will be slower if I buy now.

for me personally the x3m is too small, I'm 6'5 220lbs and that's why the E53 3.0i is perfect, after owning it since 2004 she's still running strong

I thought that as well, but testing driving x3 m40i, they are about the same size now as the e53. I am 6'3 250
Perhaps I will look at the x5 M50ie but probably will wait till all these electrics come out and then everyone will figure out rolling blackouts and short range is no fun. I really want the S58 put in the x5, perhaps by 2026 when avg gas mileage needs to be 40 mpg they will stop making the v8's which I would never buy due to timing chain tensioner issues. Probably fixed now, but he I6 is such a great engine.

I'll be selling mine soon...

I'm stepping away from BMW Club Racing and moving to a more street friendly track car, so X5 isn't needed, nor is Trailex trailer. It's been a great tow vehicle for over a decade with very little complaints.
