2001 3.0 w/82,000 miles...i bought the car CPO in March of '04 w/ 35k miles...then in Jan '05 i replaced pads with raybestos at around 55-60k miles - and now rotors warped so i did the axxis/brembo combo - i really am a rough driver and i live in staten island where the roads aren't great so i shouldn't complain about the ride of my X as much as i do - normal driving would get more use out of brakes than me.

Did you replace them yourself? How much did it cost you roughly for that setup? My car is due for a brake job and Im looking around for options. How hard is it to change the brakes on the X5. I know I can change the brakes on a Honda anyday just wondering about the X. Anyone with more inputs on this please post away. Thanks |

Within 1 month of both my X's to put on Axis pads!
So worth it unless you like cleaning wheels every weekend.

I got my 2001 4.4 with 46k on it. The fronts had been done once before I got it. Did the rears at 60k and second set of fronts at 66k. Put OEM on the rears and Brembo rotors and PBR pads on the fronts.

Front was replaced at 18k, the Rear is going in next week at 21k. The hills in San Francisco really kills your brakes.
