You are absolutely right. As much as I love the performance and power of my X5 I will never autocross it or throw her into a 90 degree corner at 80mph! The strut bar may be more of a cosmetic mod than a true performance one.

Now, for the guys on here that do drive the living S%$t out of their X5 the Dinan strut bar might make more sense.

I had one on my 911 and I swear I could not tell the difference.

first off when i answer a post i dont like the "your the seller BS" i was just trying to help. i really couldnt careless if people buy it or not all i was saying was there is not a mod to the washer bottle and it looks and fits well. If i get time i would be happy to take a photo. pls dont wait on me if anybody is looking for a strut brace and doesnt want to pay over $500 this isnt that bad. just trying to help other X5 owners who may not have a dinan buget.

Here's another bar from the same seller => http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/00-06...QQcmdZViewItem

From this picture, I'm almost certain that it won't clear the reservoir. To even have a chance, the bar needs to be where the red arrow of the attached picture (assuming that goes on the passenger side)...don't you think
yup. the red arrow is go to the passanger side. and the reservoir goes right in that hold. and it fit perfectly, i will show the pic, tomorrw

F355b dont take it personal.. I cant speak for everyone on this forum but many of us are on the fence when it comes to this strut bar... Only because we havent seen it installed on an X5 and the seller doesn't appear to be customer friendly oriented. unlike the Dinan strut bar which we know will clear the coolant resorvoir...but like the rest of their products are a little overpriced....
if you get a chance to post some pics I' m sure many of the members that were contemplating getting this strut bar will be very appreciative myself included....
As you will learn BMW X5 owners are very polarized..some think that unless its an item that BMW endorses (i.e. Dinan, Michelin tires ETC..) then its crap.. others dont think much of Dinan other than an overpriced items that pray on BMW owners with money who usually will not shop around for bargains

i took a chance on this item because i dont really think a strut brace makes much of a difference to be honest not on a X5 and not if you drive like me 8 miles round trip to work with max speed limit 35mph at one point i was going to buy the dinan CAI but ended up get the one on the group buy and again to be honest apart for looks and a little exra noise it makes not one ounce of difference, the only thing i really like are the fog lamp blubs for the money they are the best mod by far. but anyway the strut brace was $175 free shipping and the seller was very good paid and got it within a week i was very suprised it looks and feel very well made and i couldnt believe it fitted over the washer bottle with a cut out for the washer cap, is it fantastic!! maybe not is it as good as a dinan? i have no idea but for people who want a nice mod for little money i think its well worth it. as i said i will do my best to take a pic but i post from work and i cant always log on.
