Cigarette lighter problem.

HELLOOO EVERYONE! Newbie here writing a greeting and also thought i'd ask a few question. I'm a proud owner of a 2003 X5 3.0. I have a few problems with this gorgeous car.

1. Both my cigarette lighters don't work. Could it be a fuse problem? Any suggestions? I'll push them in and nothing happens. The one in the front just get's pushed in and doesn't heat up or anything and the one in the back on the center console doesn't even want to come out. Seems like it's permanently pushed in.

2. My PDC goes APES&*T on me when I start the car and go into Reverse to back out of my spot. There's a loud long beep from the right rear and when I go into Drive there's random short beeps that comes on every now and then. I've gotten used to just pushing the PDC button to turn it off or at least that's what I think I'm doing. How would i go about fixing this.

3. I think I have the same problem with the Transmission. When I start the car in the morning and get ready to go my engine revs high then jumps scaring the %R$#Q@ outta me. I almost hit one of my fellow Marines from my unit. wish you all could have seen the look on his face.

Thanks Everyone ahead of time for any suggestions you post.

1. Definately sounds like a fuse problem to me. Check both fuse box locations (one is in the glove box and the other is in the right rear access panel area) for possible blown fuses.

2. Could be something as simple as a PDC sensor has come unplugged, or more complex as the PDC unit itself has gone bad. Check all the PDC sensor connections first, and if it still doesn't work then the dealer may need to check it out.

3. Sounds like a problem that needs to be checked out by a BMW mechanic. I would think a 2003 would still be under warranty.

I might be able to help with the cigarret lighter because I just had this problem yesterday as a matter of fact, my pda car charger was stuck in the socket and I forced it out , that happened last week, so I went to the fuse box in the glove compt. and changed fuses like 5 times and it kept blowing them, long story short, I finally decided to look at the actual socket and one of the tabs inside was bent inward causing a short, replaced fuse, now it's good. Hope that helps.

Welcome to X5 world. The fuse in in the glove box is most likely the problem. The PDC also looks sideways so if your backing along a wall or hedge it will sound. Your engine transmission control module and various sensors most likely need to be analyzed and possibly reprogrammed.
God bless America and the United States Marines.

I don't smoke chief , but I'd like to charge my cell phone from the front socket, then string it from the rear port
