I know it is keyed, but when I pushed it in the socket, both the flashlight and socket fell behind the glove box. The PO may have tried to force it. There is a broken lip on the socket. Anyone have the part number, I couldn't find it on Realoem. I was only trying let people know what happened to my flashlight.

not sure if you need the support base (#12) or the electrical socket (#13) in the digram below...but if you click the following link, it will take you directly to the diagram and part nbr index. Once you have the 11 digit BMW part nbr for the part you need, you can order it from any BMW parts dept...or you can type "BMW xx xx x xxx xxx" (where x=bmw part nbrs) into a google search box to see if other aftermarket vendors may sell the part, too:

Thanks, I looked all over the oem site for this. I even got another part number I needed from that page. The logic of how they groups parts always amazes me.

If you push the moonroof button up instead of sideways, it will go into a grill mesh mode for high speeds. The inner roof will go ajar and a mesh will spring out. Then the outer glass roof will tilt open. Way cool!!
Wow thanks for that !!! I use it all the time since )

Great thread this. Found my sliding armrest and discovered that my torch works!

Now if I could only solve the problem with my rear upper hatch, I'd be a really happy bunny!

You're probably right about the PO.

Just wanted to add that on my car (truck? wagon?) the plug has a sliding cover like an electrical socket. So that might be a reason why others may miss the plug not seeing the socket holes. Plus it's black so kind of disappears on it's on if not know what looking for.

Fortunately this isn't my first go 'round with BMW so knew about the flashlight, nor German cars so knew about the parked light trick and auto windows/sunroof via the key or lock.

The spare tire lift is pretty cool though! I've got the luggage loader shelf and that thing weighs a ton. Haven't tried the wedge yet but it surely needs it.
