Little help please

Can anyone give me a name of somebody in charge of BMW of N.A. (CEO or something like that). My X is still under warranty, but was told at the dealership that the water leaking in the back seat area is not covered. I would like to see is it worth complaining, or just to pay for the repair myself. Thanks.

From experience with friends in the business complain, complain, complain. Write letters, call, email... keep pressure on them.

Heard a story the other day about a customer who had a relatively minor problem, his car was in the shop for 3 weeks, he has a free loaner but he was not happy. He called every day!! His car is being declared a lemon and he is getting a new car!!

Here is a link to contact BMW USA.

http://www.bmwusa.com/BMW2003/Templa...T=Guest&bhcp=1

Start with the email. See what that gets you and if it does not help call and get an address to write to.

Oh, tell the service manager at the dealership you plan on writing BMW a nice long letter how you are not happy with how you have been treated. Tell him you plan on sending it to BMW USA, BMW Germany and whom ever else you can find an address for.

The dealerships are frowned upon by corporate for not taking care of their customers.

Good luck and do not give up!!! You deserve for your car not to have a silly leak. It is under warranty!!!!

Yeah I agree it wont hurt. As long as you try to be as respectful as possible, like most of us are.

I have a family friend, a loyal BMW cust, who bought a new 7 series a year or two ago and was not happy with it. I guess one of the BMW NA VP'S were in the area and personally met him to return the car.

Your informations shows that you are in British Columbia. If so, and if you bought your BMW in British Columbia, there is no point in contacting BMW of NA. BMW NA only covers the USA, not Canada. You may want to contact BMW of Canada.

My advice is that following the path is of limited value. You bought your vehicle from a dealer, who is charged with handling the BMW warranty. If you are not satisfied with the response from the dealer service advisor, the natural escalation path is to the dealer management, and then the dealer principle. You may ask the dealer to bring in a BMW tech rep to explain the problem, but I would put every effort into resolving the issue with the dealer first, as the tech rep is unlikely to offer anything beyond what the dealer offers.

You don't explain why you believe this to be a warranty claim. It appears the dealer does not agree with you. Any details available?

Also, which dealer are you working with? Do they have a customer satisfaction manager? That may be worth pursuing.

Good luck.

I did not want to bug you guys with details, because the leak is only the major issue. Water is collecting on the floor in back right, and by collecting I mean a puddle. Also at the dealership I was told that I need a new axel output shaft, for this I am not sure if it is covered or not. There are also some other minor problems. To answer your question JCL, I do live in Vancouver, but I moved from California where I bought my X at Savage BMW in Ontario. I've took my X to BMW of Bellevue, and they think that the water barrier in rear right door is the cause of leak. So if nothing works out with the warranty, I'm looking in spending about $3-5,000, which is just an estimate. Anyway, I want to thank you for your interest, and I hope I get some of the things covered under warranty.

My friend I like your idea it worked for me in the past, those letters to the BMW head quarters always puts a lot of pressure on the stealers. However, if that doesn't work tried the media, here in Miami we have a method through the news media called "Help me Howard" and no company would like to see their name on the news that are not providing a good service to the public specially BMW.
