I don't think so.

Yes. I saw 4.8is in Moscow last year with stock projectors.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but aren't projectors designed to throw light deep like our headlights rather than wide? I don't consider these lights to be fog lights although I use them in the fog, but rather driving lights which are designed to put out a shallow but wide beam. I benifit most from these driving lights on a poorly lit roads, curvy mountain roads, etc.

Although the projectors would look great, are they as practical?

the reason i think theyd be practical.. at least for me is because i have xenon fogs and im sure the xenon fogs just throw scattered light everywhere, instead of being projected at one spot

No. The projector reflector gathers as much light as possible so that it passes above the cutoff shield and gets evenly spread out by the curved lens. Projectors provide wider, more evenly distributed beam. But most important part about the projector is the lens diameter, X5 fog projectors have pretty small lenses so you don’t see any illumination improvement over the reflectors. But I recommend projectors for any HID systems to protect upcoming traffic.

That's why I will never buy those chinese headlights with crappy projectors. E39/E53 projectors made by Hella one of the largest and the best projectors ever made.
