On mine, it is the rear arm rest that is bangging against the metal shield that it was leaning against when it is folded back into the rear seatback (I don't have the ski passthrough). Maybe that's also your problem. A quick way to test it is to just unfold it out of the seatback and see if the noise is still there. Now, All I need is a way to tighten that mechanism so there's less "play" on it (any suggestions are greatly appreciated). But for the moment, having the armrest unfolded out solved the problem.

Rattle Located!
Thanks for all the excellent suggestions... (I will definitely keep this thread archived in case another rattle surfaces at some point!)
As it turns out, it occurred to me last night to check the back seat arm rest/ ski sack pass-through. Driving to work this morning, it was rattling a lot, so I reached back with one hand while driving and pulled down the arm rest, the leather cover, and the the plastic latch - and that was the end of the rattle! Of course when I jumped back to this thread to post the good news, I see the post from dkl 4 days ago suggesting this very possibility!!! Anyway, thanks again for all the good suggestions - especially dkl. |

I pulled down the armrest/ski sack pass-through again, and the rattle once again disappeared. Looks like I need to scrutinize this latch some more to see where else it could be wiggling around... or maybe just get some ear plugs!! |
