Bonus?
The dealership did, however, offer to order me a new cluster for cost-$576, but gave no guarantees that it would work either, since it was made for a 4.4L and mine is a 3.0L. Once ordered, I cannot return the cluster since it will supposedly be pre-coded for my VIN. Good deal or not? Any opinions?

Thank you JPuma for the e-mail answer. Once a cluster has been coded, it cannot be recoded for a different vehicle. You must purchase a new cluster or live with the manipulation dot and no warning messages or tones.

Still usable
Used clusters will normally still work without issues if it came off the same model of car. However, the mileage cannot be changed and you will get the annoying red manipulation dot under the "miles" display. That is my understanding. Any cluster that has not been previously coded can be programmed for any car at the dealership.
