I would not use any sort of lower output battery maintainer while coding.

As mentioned, an old school 6-10 Amp charger connected directly to the battery is probably a better option.

Also for vehicles with cigarette lighter plugs that shut down when the car is off and you do not want to connect under the hood, you can use an OBDII port connector for Deltran or other similar 3 Amp or lower battery maintainer/chargers.

Well it worked for keeping my battery in good shape in between coding. See post #87 on this thread:

It may have worked for your case (I really think you worked off the battery more than the battery maintainer), but there is NO WAY I would use a battery maintainer for any flashing on a vehicle. Its one thing to do basic coding or just changing a few options in a single module, however, heavy coding should have a very stable power supply, more than a battery maintainer.

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
^I am in full agreement. You need a MANUAL battery charger and leave it on 10 amp mode while scanning, coding, or doing DME updates, it needs to maintain constant voltage during these operations and any AUTOMATIC battery chargers or maintainers will drop off voltage once the battery reaches full charge which could potentially get a voltage drop

I know this. As previously mentioned in multiple posts I am interested in quick coding changes that only take a few minutes.

Right now on Amazon the larger Battery Tender Plus (pictured above) is $42.23 shipped in case anyone is thinking about getting one. See link here - Battery Tender

Great price and recommended if you often store your car, just plug it in and forget it.
I think amazon should brings good and also comparative products so we should buy from there for pick the best item which was you need.
