Thanks Dolphin! I think this is the root of my problems.... (wires reversed inside headlight). Both sets of ballasts are now fried.

The headlights from ebay seller Parasitesingle do have the angel eye ballasts inside them. The have a single connector coming out of the headlight, with unmarked polarity. Does anyone know what type of connector this is so I can find the mating connector?

As for the polarity on this connector, there is a black wire going to a silver pin and a white wire going to a gold pin. Based on Dolphin's feedback I'd say the white wire is the positive, black is the negative?

Here's a photo. Its a blurry pic, but you can see the connector.

You are right about the color/polarity. I take it your X5 is not US spec because you don't have that plug as part of your headlights plugs. US spec ones have them and for them it's just plug & play, for the rest of us that don't have them we need a relay kit, you can find it on eBay...links are also on previous post #127.

Questions for the experts

Looking for expert advice....I'm confused at this point.

I have a 2002 X5 4.6is Black/Black and want to replace the headlights:

I currently have OEM Xenon and autoleveling. I do not want to lose this functionality.

Goal is to have 60-90?? LED Angel Eyes and the same Xenon brightness without cutting wires...

Can someone point me in the right direction for a vendor?

Thank you in advance

i am waiting for "someone" from this board to take a pic of the output against the wall. :-) Otherwise, I am thinking DEPO has the best as far as clarity and looks.

I was just kidding. I have asked the seller to produce some details: they have a few models priced differently, same look.
...And I have decided to retro a Sonar projector with a curved shield.

Any luck with pictures?

Also, can someone help me here - I am about to install these lights this weekend and I also got a wiring kit for these CCFL from eBay but I have no idea how to connect it...
Looked at several old posts but none has that kit. Can someone tell me which wire goes where

Here is a picture of that kit:

OK,
I also got a link to CCFL wiring from the guy that I purchased the remote ON harness, it is for E46 but I think it should also work for X5 - correct me if I am wrong.
Again, these instructions are for the wire harness that is pictured in my previous post.
Interesting that they connecting remote ON wire to the glove box lamp...
