Consider it done! I'd like to know if/how they work also. Maybe I can adapt the DDMTuning/Apexcone HID's from my 7 into the X until I decide which headlights to go for.

I will let you know the outcome as soon as the seller responds.

Also, looks like I wont be able to "bake" the drivers light to clean the glue due to AE's ballasts inside

You can remove the ballast if you need to...they are held to the housing by 2 metal clips

I know Dolphin installed them & think he used the OEM ballasts, etc. Hopefully he will see this post and reply.
Cant open the OEM lights - that was my idea but the production date is 08/03
Hey Philly...sorry for the delay but was on a trip, just got back.

About the adapters...if the back of your headlights are like mine they wont fit, as they are different from the ones on the link...the ones we've got have a twist lock for the bulb to be held in place.

I did use my OEM ballast, bulb and self-level...I don't have pictures of it or a way to really explain the how-to but it's simple...if you set them side by side and start tinkering with them you will see there's a way. I already told you about the self-level, that's just a swap from one to the other but for the xenon bulb fitment basically you make the bulb socket on the new headlight fit in the OEM bulb holder anyway you can...there are a few ways...if after you get the new ones and start tinkering still dont see a way PM with photos so I can help you

Looks like an interesting project - but I will make it work When I saw these light I knew I need them on my X...

Sorry if you answered this before but did you use the AE's wire harness to connect them?

Yes I did because my X is canadian spec, but if yours is US spec you should have the plug needed for the AE's next to the high beam plug, check your OEM headlights...good luck!

I send the lights back and they refunded my money. I think I will try my luck with next seller...

Dolphin, can you post night pictures of the light output of your headlights?
I want to make sure that the xenon lense in these lights privides enough/close to OEM light pattern... THanks.

What happened, why did you returned them? I'll try to get you the shots but I can tell you right now that the lenses are very good and the xenon looks very bright. What was the seller name?
