I know .. pre 04/2004 build didn't come with adaptive xenons, that's why I'm asking his build date ... if he has adaptive xenons and installed that switch, they won't work anymore ....

Yeah, I believe the build date on my wife's X5 is 3/2004 & it had Xeons, but not adaptive. Stock Light Control Switch doesn't have the green light either.

Cool...Like I found, before you start, go to the LCM & check what type of Bushing Contact your 2 X5s use, since the origional DIY I followed from here stated a different one than I ended up needing...this will just make the front section install smoother than it was for me. An easy way to check without having to take out one of the existing bushing contacts in the blue contact strip is to look & see if there is a rectangular kinda shaped rise in the metal of the bushing contact or if they have more of a triangular shape. If it is triangular, then use the bushing contact like the other DIY states (same one used behind the Light Control Switch) or if it's the rectangular like shape, you need to get the bushing contact I found I needed.

In the pic below to see what I'm talking about...look at the metal section right under each number...see how these look more rectangular (more trapizoidal actually):

To everyone else, sorry again! I hope to have the rest of this install (Rear Section) completed today! I'm actually waiting for my wife to get home so I can start on it...she had to get her nails done

I spoke with my local stealer and they advised me they're not able to order european light switches .. do you know if united BMW is able to?

Thanks!
www.getbmwparts.com is a great place to get Euro parts...that's where I got all the Euro stuff for the 6spd conversion in my 7.
