Coming from Germany, so it will take some time. But brand new, no BS switch. I am putting together a big shopping list for him, and I will order this. Yay.

Dude that is solid, the ones on ebay.de are 90 bucks and they are used, by the time the exchange rate hits is 90 bucks too.

I think I'll take him up on one myself, how long in transit? I'll just get them to ship down to my house since I'm never anywhere near bloomfield lol

just bid on ebay.de today and submitted my best offer for a euro switch, will let you guys know if he accepts, listed for 46 euro shipping included worldwide from Lithuania, I offered 38 Euro. Then me and Slick can put our heads (and switches together) and use Terminator's wiring knowledge to hopefully get these working without a Trailer Control Module.

Although the pricing from Bloomfield is great for new, if you can find someone shipping worldwide on ebay.de you can score a used Euroswitch for cheap (most of them are dirty in pics you really just need to clean the plastic up but I haven't seen any damaged)

if going on German ebay make sure to search for "e53 lichtschalter" and a few will pop up.

SIDE NOTE: This whole not being able to find threads via google search and via the forum search is a big pain in the ass, I had to scan through 10 pages of threads before I found the rear fog thread on page 14 or 15 LOL

ACCEPTED OFFER, $51 dollars and I have euro switch on its way.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/150992929526...84.m1497.l2649

OK T, so lets get our heads together again on this, I can run wiring and all that jazz, just give me the play by play on what I need to do.

I understand i need one bushing contact for the Light switch, 1 bushing contact to connect to the LCM, and in the rear, theoretically we are going to run a separate wire from each tailgate bulb harness to pin 10 and pin 12 of the X609 connector that should be in my trunk, and that connector probably needs 2 of a special bushing contact connector as well right? am I missing anything?

So far I have this from you:

LCM module (A3), connector X38, pin 15 - left rear fog light
LCM module (A3), connector X12, pin 1 - right rear fog light

both connectors, the X12 and the X38 are 15-pin connectors, X12 is supposed to be black and the X38 is supposed to be white.

Those pins supply the power/PWM signal to the light bulb, you will need to source your own ground at the light bulb.

the light module is located in the right footwell, on the side of the car - there are many write-ups on locating the LCM.

And this:

LCM module (A3), connector X38, pin 15 - left rear fog light - comes to pin 12 on X609
LCM module (A3), connector X12, pin 1 - right rear fog light - comes to pin 10 on X609.
*******
The left rear fog light is already wired from the LCM to the back of the car and is terminated at the connector X609, pin 12. the right rear fog llight is wired to the back of the car as well, and is terminated at the same connector, pin 10.

So should I run 2 separate wires to the LCM from the headlight switch with this method? And if you could explain the best way to "source a ground" at the light bulb that would be helpful, basic wiring isn't my forte but I can follow directions quite well

I am at work and the comp here does not read the WDS...

from S8, the switch that you just bought, you run 1 wire (the return wire is already a part of existing setup) from pin 8 through the guts of the dash to the LCM, pin 45... that is the work that needs to be done in the front of the car... this is the wire that will need the socket (I use part A28327-ND from Digi-key) on each end of it... i will verify the actual pins once i am on the home computer (and done with kids homework, karate practice, etc... etc.. hahaha)

main thing will be to find the connector 609 in the trunk area as it is the one carryinng the desired signals... without WDS I can't tell how the X609 looks like, i think it is the tucked away and taped off large fat connector that connects to the trailer module... i need to check this...

Sounds good T, no problem about the kids I totally understand, I am getting ready to go on a cruise for 5 days on Saturday so whenever you feel like taking a look let me know.

I got the contacts OEM part numbers for the LCM and the S8 from page 1 of this thread, so thats not a problem and thats the easy part, I will run a wire from pin 8 of S8 to pin 45 of LCM initially to power up the switch, I will likely be waiting a bit since he is sending economy postage from Lithuania so my switch will take a bit lol!

I can pop my rear tire out at some point and look for connectors, if you can get me a pic of what the X609 looks like at least a graphic, I'm sure I can find it in the trunk area if it is there. Once I find then we can really start working on this!
