That is not the Dynavin unit.

Also, I'd recommend NOT buying a unit from Ebay or a reseller that may not stand behind the product. These units are not from a standard source and can have issues that you will need a reseller to help you with. On the E46fanatics site, Dynavin Solutions has been the vendor of choice because of the familiarity that Jeffb has with them (he is supposed to be testing an E39 unit as well) and the excellent help he has provided everyone on that forum. It sounds like Bimmian would be a good source as well (judging from the posts above).

...Exactly. I spoke directly with Bimmian, and he told me about the install they just did a few days ago.
I would highly suggest waiting for them to get more in stock and purchase from them. Very reputable outfit, outstanding customer service so far. After placing my order over the phone, i received multiple emails instantly confirming my order, shipping, tracking etc. I know if there is a problem it will be addressed without issue.
BTW, the unit for those links are Dynavin, they're just the E46 unit, not the E39.

I have the E46 Dynavin unit in my 330ci. The ones posted are not the Dynavin units. The buttons are completely different, as well as how the connections on the rear of the unit look. The unit posted does not appear to have the two USB connections on the rear, has a different GUI, and has more connections on the face of it than mine.

I won't buy it via ebay - just wondering what they have on ebay beside bimmian and Dynavin websites.

I got my Hualingan units this weekend and it looks AWESOME but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be compatible with all 39, e53s out there. Mine is a 2000 e53 with DSP. I couldn't figure out if DSP is the culprit but I get no sound. The unit must send the wrong iBus message to my amp/dsp that blocks the sound. Is there anybody in Calgary willing to try it out. It is a plug'n play setup and it should't take more than a few minutes.

fmugur, you may got the wrong model. The one you received may be fit for E53 2002-2006 with 40PIN connector and your X year is 2000 and it may needs the model for 2000-2001 with 16 PIN. Check with them again.

I got both connectors (17 and 40) in the box and the unit supposed to be compatible with cars manufactured 1999-2000. I also have an round to flat (17 to 40) pin adapter harness since I upgraded a year ago to the new business cd ( from a 2005 x5) to get aux input. This is the interesting part, When I got the upgrade I also installed a connects2 adapter for parrot BT and the new business CD was sending a wrong message to the amp/dsp and muted the speakers. To work around this I had to disconnect the Tel-Mute wire that goes to the business CD. Without the connects2 adapter both units worked fine. So, it looks like there is a difference somewhere in the software for the iBus I think.
