@gtiownr: Thanks for the suggestion
 Well, I just took apart the assembly again, freed the display, put all the connectors back in and connected it to the vehicle. Then adjusted the H-POS with a tiny screwdriver, took it out of the car and assembled tho whole thing again. ...bit of PITA but it WORKS!
