X5s with Remote starters...

My installer removed the chip from the valet key and placed in the bypass module that is placed near the steering column. Gonna get get to hook up the seat warmers next.

Hello guys,

What reads the keys is the black antenna ring around the ignition switch. What the aftermarket is doing to install the remote starter is purchasing another ring from the dealer and wiring it into the system. They then take a valet or walet key and tape it to the ring that is tucked away under the dash. I hope this info clears any confusion

i really want to do this to my car, but i dont want my car to get stolen or anything.

So im sure going to car toys would not be a good idea. Anyone suggest maybe what parts should i order before turnin all of the parts in to get installed and maybe explain to them how to do it.

With the setup I have, I don't see how the vehicle can be stolen. If it is started with the remote and then you get in and try to drive off without inserting the key in the ignition, the vehicle shuts off once you put it in gear.
