I had my alignment done at Firestone. I got the lifetime alignment for $199. Not sure if they zeroed out the SAS but I have all the BMW software to do it as needed. I believe most if not all E53s just require a steeringnl wheel lock to lock and back to center to auto align the SAS. I have used that procedure for many friends who have had the SAS calibration error on their E53s including having the DSC light lit up only on the cluster...

m-technic (sp?) on Broadway. Best alignment in town for a BMW probably. Not cheap though. ~$170 is what I paid for the wife's diesel after rebuilding the front suspension. Really knowledgeable guys.

I have also used Firestone. All the ones around me send me to the store on, also on Broadway I think, as being the only one who can properly do a BMW. I was more impressed with m-technic, though Firestone may be $20-30 cheaper.

That's cheaper than the dealership.
I've never been to them, will probably give them a go. Thanks.

That's pretty high. Close to what the dealership quoted me

$199 is for lifetime checks and alignments. Their 1 year is like $95. I will never pay for another alignment on my X5 again. I figured that was priceless...

If you goto firestone check their website for the online $199 lifetime warranty price and book an appointment at that rate at your nearest location...

Full disclosure, I also have the lifetime alignment on my E53 at Firestone. My red truck has been aligned three times by them (about once a year since I bought the lifetime alignment). First time was okay, I knew the guy doing the alignment (he ended up marrying my sister earlier this year). Second and third time they sent me to the Broadway store. Much less pleasant of an experience as it's across town from where we live. Long wait, they didn't seem confident, etc.

Next time Red needs an alignment, it will probably be with M-technic. If for nothing else to compare the job they do, with Firestone's work.

I’m with crystalworks and purplecty, lifetime Firestone alignment and they have always done a supremely good job

And I can confirm - it IS lifetime. I redid my front suspension - alignment = free, redid my struts - alignment = free, swapped tires (not wheels) - alignment = free. And each and every time it has driven laser straight and handled like a dream when they were done.

Now I talk to the guys who do it, tell them what I want and how I want it setup and I never get any hassles, it has been super easy.
