Four8, to be simple a sealant is a synthetic product made to mimic the shine of a traditional natural wax but be longer lasting and more durable protection in harsher environments. Your friend probably used the 3M perfect it line, which is a compound, polish, and finishing wax. When he says 3 stage he is talking about paint correction. You can wax/seal your X from here on out with whatever you'd like, pick your poison. Applying sealant is much like applying wax, apply, allow to haze and then buff residues off by hand. Will leave a super slick surface. I also have a can of Sonax Polymer Net Shield and I love it because of the durability, but it's a different application method and leaves the surface not as slick to the touch, but it's very dirt/dust repellant and lasts for months. I tend to use it on wheels and door jambs and such right now, as I'm using up some older products on my shelf (I still have a bottle of Power Lock from 2010) Pm me if you need some tips and/or questions so we don't clog the threads

I have used Liquid Glass as sealant in the past. Recently, I've been using carnauba based wax. Seemed to have better shine.

I was at Watkins Glen week before last with the 328. Spent 4 days on the track flogging it. They have a thing at lunch and at 5:30 where for $25 you can take whatever you want out on the track behind a pace car. Most car clubs won't allow SUVs on the track, so I figured this would be a good use for $25. Filled the X5 up with the wife and kids and hauled around the track for 3 laps. It handled well, but there were instances where I wanted a down shift and the X5 wouldn't allow it. It has such a sweet note when you wind it out on a track like that. And now it's back to a daily driver......
Cheers.

I had to hang back and caught the pack quickly, but got up around 180km/h past the esses. Now, running the 328 in solo is awesome...
