I just checked and you're right! lol $33 shipped.

I have no clue where they were actually made, they were shipped from the US, but definitely made overseas lol the spring clips popped out and I had to visit the wreckers to find spares, got it to work in the end though.

I had the same issue with the spring clips popping out and losing them too. so I ordered the led type and see if they are any better.

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
What I did with mine was stretched them a bit wider before install, it allowed for a more secure fit.

I found that it wasn't cast evenly, so I just used an razor blade and trimmed the other end so it was a bit wider and it went in smooth and secure. I think my issue was trying to push the marker in enough to get the back to catch, which would pop the clip out the other end lol bugger.

So I haven't lost more than maybe an ounce of oil since I did my oil filter housing gasket and valve cover gasket though! I'm super happy, I know the small oil loss was from the lack of sealant on the valve cover and some through the CCV system...

On that note, anyone ever install a catch can with keeping the CCV system? I've got the bare fittings for the 3/4" hose from the valve cover to the CCV valve, I was going to get some 12AN push lock hose and give it a try with a billet can mounted by the air pump lol.

Also surprisingly the valve cover wasn't nearly as gummed up as I was lead to believe, it has some emulsified oil on it, but not too bad. I'm running some different oil through it now to clean everything and then back to Castrol and we'll see how clean it is after.

Fan belt replacement is on day 3. The need to remove the fan was a major pita. It took three days to get the wrong tool after trying to make one failed.

Wrong tool drilled to get the fan off, fan was brittle & a blade looked sketchy & when I applied a bit of pressure it broke. I also did the expansion tank as a PM because moving teh hoses made access easier.

The correct tool makes the job a breeze. I have tried several methods that are supposed to make it easy but often don't work at all. The right tool is the ticket. They are available on amazon for around $30.

That is what Amazon sent. At least the belts were right.

I ordered a set of those fan wrenches and the water pump one did not fit on the water pump bolts. Is it possible that the X5 m54's bolts are different than a regular m54? I checked and the wrench does work on my E30 as advertised, although that is a M20.

They really do. I usually try to get rid of the ugly yellow on all my cars.
