Cleaned and greased the sampling fan in the HVAC. Although that doesn't appear to have fixed the whining noise. On to the next option for what the noise is...

how did you like your BSW btw?
It sounds decent. I am coming from a ported 10" setup (200w) in one of my e30's and a sealed 12" setup (900w) in another so you have to take that into consideration. I also have it paired with the factory DSP/headunit so I don't have all the adjustability I would like either.

But that said, it is decently punchy and can keep up with the mids/highs of the factory setup. Low end is a little lacking, but anywhere north of ~60hz it's pretty solid. For the amount of space it takes up, it is a great option for sure. I am glad my truck came with it, though it was tuned so badly at first, I didn't even know it was there. If you are interested in how I re-installed it check out my thread... I redesigned the factory CD changer/BT/etc brackets to hold the BSW amp so it looks like a factory piece.

Today I changed all of the cooling hoses to fix a leak. Since I am going in for one hose change might as well and do all the others.

Just replaced Hänsel's battery. Didn't start after 3 days of non use. Got a new Bosch platinum AGM battery.

I'm in NY, so its like 25 degrees here too. I put mine on after the drive home from work, and idling in the driveway for a few minutes. The residual engine heat warmed it up enough that the clips on the old ones were pliable. New ones had been in the house, so they were already warm. Snapped right in!

good idea and looking sharp

my current grill is dipped and has lasted well over 2 years now without any wear and tear but they had a sweet deal on ECS for matte black grill so it should turn out like yours!
