Got stuck in the snow a bit on my 20"s. Was doing fine till got into some 14" stuff and became a plow. A little back and forth action got me going. Thawing off in garage and then I'm putting on snows.

I installed a new driver's side rear lower shock bolt, torqued to 94ft-lbs while on the ground (hard to get leverage on the torque wrench that low to the ground...).

Oh yeah, speaking of - Redyed my drivers seat bolster. It was really, really faded and worn. I used Griots and a fingernail brush to clean it - and wiped the dye on with a microfiber pad. Holy crap, super easy, exact match.

Matched the color using this thread - "the exact match for "hellbeige 2" aka "sand" can be found with Color Number 0521 - Light Sand"

Changed my oil. Easier said than done. Stripped the oil filter cap, had to take off steel plate, use various tools to get the cap off. Replaced with a new cap. Not a very fun way of spending the evening.

Also noticed that my power steering line coming from the res. Was seeping some oil. Looks like the original clamp is not securing the hose anymore. Has anyone replace with a regular style clamp?

Also noticed some seepage at my front differential. Can't say sure sure where it was coming from but it looked like it was coming from the fill plug. I don't remember of that one had a crush washer or not. I reused the bolts last drain and fill.

I just replaced the whole hose and put factory clamps on. I figured the 10 year old hose should just be replaced anyways. For the diffs, the drain plugs have a little seal inside the lip.

They actually issued a driving ban in the 5 boroughs here from 2:30pm. No worries. I still had fun once the snows got put on. Great day for a drive.

took my beast up to my local indy for the fluids changing , this is how great my local garage is , we put it on ramps, removed the gearbox sump yeah I got all oily
any whoo, gearbox oil and filter changed, oil was brown and smelled burned apparently, then went onto the rear diff, he noticed I had a rumble on my input bearings (from prop) so needs by the looks bearing kit on the rear diff, changed oil on that, noticed my drain crush washer was split in many places. didn't get chance to do front diff or transfer box, doing that in 2 weeks, as I didn't get enough oil DUH !
no charge yet

Just got back

Drove over 800 miles on my tahoe trip.
Snow storms and rain.
X5 was great the whole time. Now I'm abusing her around town.
I need an oil change!
