just confirming after replacing the ofhg no more leaks

6HP26x Transmission Service

Mechatronics sealing sleeve was leaking a bit of fluid leaving a puddle where ever it is parked.
I replaced the sleeve and did a transmission service including the resetting of adaptions. No real noticeable change beyond no oil on my driveway...

Recommend getting your ZF service kits and parts from this place:
The California Transmission Supply Company
Great prices and quick delivery service!

2005 4.8is in Imola Red.

Phew .. been wrenching all memorial day weekend:

Underride protection, new OEM headlight assemblies (old were very foggy and yellow) and HID in fogs.

OEM Running boards

OEM trailer hitch (those T55's were such a pain)

And full LED interior lights treatment:

In progress ...

And done!

Replaced battery over the weekend. Was purchased in January of 09. There had been no symptoms of battery going bad. Tried to start it that morning and it wouldn't even click. Tried to charge the battery and wouldn't charge past 12%.

Wow no warning. That is what spooks me about not replacing my 545i battery after 6 years of service. I am worried I might come out from the movies and click click.

I am not being cheap, just trying to find the balance between not replacing parts too soon and not asking for it either.

Yeah, as the thread about underride protection installation says, it feels like a sedan now on twisty roads, very different feeling from the front end.

replaced vanos solenoid on exhaust side because it appeared to be leaking oil from the plastic part at the connector end. Not sure if it's a common problem or not ? Anyway, heads-up, quite a bit of oil comes out! I wish I had put a rag under it before I pulled it.
