Used it to haul my bicycle for the first time. Our area trails have only recently melted and dried-out enough to ride. The hitch and rack worked great!

Crystalworks and I replaced the front speakers with some Infinity Reference components. Now I need to get my Memphis Big Belle amp installed. Don't really want to give a review on these until I have them properly powered.

...Also....found that the previous DIY'er "fixed" the front driver's vapor barrier with painters tape, two different colors no less. Thankfully, Crystalworks had a spare on hand to swap out. Also replaced a few broken push pins.

Swapped in some working folding mirrors as well.

This weekend I did cn90's great sunroof drain DIY. I'm hoping it works. I've also got a pretty rotted windshield seal so that's on the list too. Next step is to figure out what the hell is grinding in the rear.

Those speakers fit like a glove in both the midrange and tweeter locales. Can't wait to hear what they sound like amplified

BTW, in case anyone was curious (which I doubt)... if you have the HiFi speaker system (w/ or w/o navigation) the front door midrange drivers are not a full range signal. They are filtered by the amplifier. Ask us how we know.

What happened to the door card? That large plastic section at the top of the door (with the black squiggly lines of glue) is part of the door card and it supposed to come off with it. Did you remove it from the door and glue it back onto the top inner of the door card?

That is a curious thing. Did you pull up vs in on the door card to remove it? (Wouldn't be surprised, I've removed dozens of door panels and only BMW pulls in not up to remove)

Hah! Nope, that's standard here in south Texas. 110F days means the inside panels see 200+F at times I would imagine. Years of that just destroys the original glue. Happens to just about every chassis. E36 is particularly horrible though. I had attempted to silicon that when I owned the truck when I did the regulator... but as you can see, it came back off when pulled this time. The other side did the same thing BTW.

It can be repaired, but we did not have the time to do it properly. So just threw some more silicon on there and went about our business.

Lets see....

Transmission, Transfer case and front driveshaft were swapped out.

Rear (totally shot) subframe bushings were replaced. If you have not done this, please do. Also, buy the bushing tool for $60 - its well worth it.

New drain line fitted on the supercharger which connects to a custom dipstick tube DINAN fashioned.

Supercharger rebuilt by Vortech a few weeks back.

On the road for the first time since I've owned it tomorrow!

(arrived 12/25/18)
