'Confusing the thread'? The only confusion here pal is your constant childish attempts to dig me out. Oh well, whatever. You carry on making yourself look a tw@t sunshine.
As for the bang for buck debate, I couldn't give two f@cks about it. I paid £325 and I'm as happy as a sandboy. My money, my car. If you don't want to spend the money, then don't, its that simple!!!! As far as I could read BW quite clearly asked for the views of people with experience of re-maps, and that my lowly friend, is me and my view. You didn't give a view, you just gave a boring monologue of how it gets done. And? He could have googled that if he wanted to know that shite. No, he asked for peoples EXPERIENCES.... Clue's in the words mate.
If you have nothing to offer than to try and deride those experienced (meaning real-world tried/tested/liked/dis-liked) views, then you really have nothing to offer, do you?

It would be nice if everyone calmed down.
And while I don't want to get into the personal attacks, I do think that the experience of remapping a turbocharged engine (whether diesel or gasoline/petrol) is quite different than remapping a naturally aspirated engine. There simply isn't an easy way to get more power out of a naturally aspirated engine with simple software changes.
