girls, stop fighting... the written word is well known for being stripped of emotions, thus the emoticons were invented - when i say something, it may sound funny, when i type the same thing, it sounds nasty and mean... I've been on the forums, chat rooms since 1992, and learned the hard way...

The OP has a legitimate concern, regardless if his heighbourhood is nice or not - presently i live in a nice area but reading thelocal newspaper makes me scared of all the thugs in the area...

If you still have the ability to move with your uncle, do it - at least the guy knows how to protect himself (I am against guns, but I am more against criminals... lol... go figure).

when my wife got her E34, I could not sleep well as I was picturing bad guys taking the car... so, i took the car to NYC and got a two way alarm installed, that would have started the engine, lock the car, let you know if someone was tampering with it... Slick knows that shop in Brooklyn... The whole thing was installed when there was not a such a thing as iphone or mobile internet... I am sure there are options now that you can use, just make sure the guys who install the alarm, know BMW and do not screw things up... You might have to sacrifice a key to be hidden inside the car for a remote start, if you care for that...

If you don't know the specs of lug bolts, get them from a dealer, probably about $50.

The car will attract thugs that do not know any better, for a joy ride... they will not be able to drive off, but they can do some damage... make sure your insurance include comprehensive, which covers vandalism, stolen car and you can lower the deductible to $50 - the cost of comprehensive should not that prohibitive.

Come on Senor Sensitive.

You asked a pretty off the wall question

We are busting balls.

Could be worse and this could be bforums where they completely ignore you, or e46fanatics where every third post is from some 16 year old asking about what rims for the ladies.

I don't think you are in a position to say anything.

squiggy, you are seriously on defensive and either have not been around college boys or millitary boys, or, you may have forgotten the lingo... in all of the information that you were provided, the only thing stuck out was a comment - girls??? When grown men are bickering back and forth over nothing, sometimes it falls under category "girls - stop fighting"... I think that neighbourhood's blood is slowly sipping into your veins - you've got to move, dude...

Oh, and "dude" mean "guy", "man", "fellow"...

Squiggy,
Chill out...you received some good ideas and info about keeping your car.
Imo, you reacted to some funny posts. No laugh is usually too cheap on forums, including this one.

Quit arguing and poking, accept the good info, and don't be so thin skinned, imo.

This is The Best Freakin X board on the planet, and one of the better general info boards too; many posters here have very good knowledge on many topics, X cars included, so hang in, or go under the radar.

squiggy, you were welcomed to the forum with open arms - what are a couple manly jokes amonst friends?...

however, as the tally stands now, in 34 posts you have managed to alienate a few folks on this board... there are very valuable female members on this board that can show of some serious skills that you have not even dreamt of - and you instantly offended them in short line...

So, maybe, you should stay in your neighborhood, and not move anywhere...

i am unsubsribing from this thread and putting you on ignore - i am sure there are plenty of people here that still will help you out, should you need help...

ciao
