![]() To move it back to topic, to sum up: 1. leave no valuables + Tinted windows 2. wheel locks 3. comprehensive insurance and if I may add, some thieves drill a hole under the battery tray to drain the fluid. once the battery is dead - alarm is dead. easier to tow when car is quiet 4. heavy duty steel plate under the battery IMO, I agree with some of the members. I dont think the X can be stolen. I would be more worried about vandalism and break-ins |

Squiggy: my friend, Fair warning: your kind of disrespectful response will
not get you good results. So I would suggest you pull yourself together and do the right thing.

come on man, you asked a group of people on the interwebz, mostly guys, a question about how you should keep your car safe at night and you dont think thats strange? You asked a question about how to get another key, thats legit, no one gave you a hard time there.
Not only that, but you got all geeked up and went to detail about how your car is red, and its a bmw, and its a 4.8 and its your first fancy car and what should I do. Like a BMW somehow gets its own security parameters. Well for a BMW, you should do this, but if it was a lexus, psh...totally different thing. Then youre carrying on and on about how the moderators should come save you because you paid for a membership and your not coming back because we are so mean. Its cool, you want attention. My dick actually was harder for an entire week after I got my first BMW. Now i'm on my 3rd. First rule of trying not to draw attention is dont act like its a big deal. Act like you belong. Its called hubris. Lets be honest, few of us actually paid very much for these cars.most of us didnt buy them new, we didnt buy them CPO, we are probably the third or fourth owner. Its a big deal to us. we could have bought an accord but we bought a BMW. When my Boss buys a new x5 with cash, then he can strut around like hes a big shot because he just dropped 60K on a new BMW. When you drop 10K on a used ride, even if its a status car, you just bought a 10K ride. now, I respect that, and I love BMW's for more than the status, which is why I will keep buying older ones. So lets get back to the original issue. You asked a car and model specific forum a question that really has nothing to do with this car and this model and now you're tweaked because we are busting your balls for asking. The guys talking about being friends, yup, that happens. I'm new, I've got a couple of peoples first names. Folks I know I can ask a question to and get a helpful response. who knows, some day we may all meet up. But as friends, even interwebz friends I would hope that if I asked a question like yours, i would get a certain amount of ball busting in return, thats what being part of a community is about. So given your reaction, I guess that begs the question. Are you trolling us? Oh - and my name is Josh. Nice to meet you and welcome to the forum

Don't try to paint me as being something I am not. I am grateful to those who offered advice SANS the insults. You act as if I am attacking those who have been kind to me. Shame on you. That is slander.

Dude you are talking like a total tool, you are aware motordavid aka "ol uncle motor" is a literally retired OG who comes on this forum for the comraderie and the help, and to give out knowledge if he can, since he's owned his X since new 11 years ago? He told you how great the forum is and chill out, and you have to start using foul statements which might be offensive to the few female members on this board? I'm unsubscribing too, this is obviously your first rodeo on the interwebz

Not female, here. I really offered what I thought were reasonable comments on your thread, and in response to your rant. I suspect immaturity and potty mouth 7th grade stuff is what it is. I recommend your bailing out of here; you will not win the armwrestle, and most will simply consider your source. Regardless, mD

No ma man I'm just pulling your coat. Your response to "motordavid" a senior member on this forum in both years and time was wise counsel. Best you take the advice and chill.

motordavid,
I don't care who you are. The X5 is just a stupid car. I don't need you help to fix it if something goes wrong. Plenty of awesome indie shops in my area. I have been chill to those who have been chill with me. Your sense of humor needs some work IMO. Put yourself in my shoes and read the thread again. You have some very UNCOOL people here. I don't need your brand of 'humor'. I was thrilled to get my first BMW. Now I understand why people think BMW owners are snobs. I almost hope it gets stolen so I can buy a freaking Ford.

Motordavid read the thread. I read the thread. Others have read the thread. In the final analysis you don't get it. That's ok not everyone can see themselves as other can.....
