Phone/Bluetooth reset.

Today, for only the second time in 7 years, the phone/blutooth module needed to be reset.

OK, pull the fuses, wait 15 minutes, reinstall the fuses.. Problem solved.

So, I got to thinking. I wonder how many people would have received a ~$1,500.00 repair bill for something like this.

So, here is a business idea for someone who is electronically aware.

Go into business buying used modules from car owners who "demand" to have their old parts when a dealer does a service. Check the part over - sell it for a few dollars as used, but working.

I would be willing to bet that many of the replaced parts are actually OK.

I have an 05 and think I need to reset the bluetooth module. What fuse do I pull? Is it in the trunk or in the glovebox? What were your problems? I am trying to pair my iphone 5s and I just have a red LED on the mid and it says please wait...

Sounds like ours might be different problems.

Mine was that the red LED was no longer on at any time, indicating that the phone could no longer talk to or through the car. So, I reset the system be removing and replacing the fuses to bring it back on-line. I never even had to pair the phone after.

In my 2006, there are three fuses. #7 in the Glove Box, and numbers 73, 74 in the rear.

Those are the three fuses associated with "Telephone." I pulled all of them and left them out for 5-10 min which reset the system. After that I was able to successfully pair my phone. Thanks!

I have tried all the methods metioned under the bluetooh section; and none of them worked. Until, I tried the method mentioned in this thread. Everything is working like a charm. It loaded all the contacts from both of my Iphones 5s.

Glad it worked out for you.

Thank you! My BT (2005 4.8is) would not go into pairing mode but the red light was on. Pulled #7 in the glove box and numbers 73, 74, 75 in the rear (I added #75 to the list here but may not have been needed). After letting it sit for 15 mins I reinstalled and pairing worked

As I have never used the BT before I have a question: does the phone call audio only come across the front passenger speaker or is something not right in my setup?

I have never noticed which speakers are used, it may be as you say the front only. But I get plenty of volume and all voices are easily heard.

Follow up: fixed the strange audio. Initially after reset by fuse pull method my BT would connect and sync fine but the audio was only coming out of front passenger door speaker.

Thankfully it got stranger. Few days later my radio stopped working. No audio at all. Noticed the green light on radio for phone was on solid. Checked menus for tel info and the BT unit showed it was stuck on a call (700 mins and counting). Menu option to hang up the call did nothing nor did powering off my phone.

Drove back home, pulled the fuses again and waited 15mins before reconnecting them.

The looped/stuck call was cleared AND my call audio is fixed too with the voices over all of the car speakers. Thx !
