2005 w/Blue Teeth -- no joy

Ok, so my 2005 X5 has the blue tooth module 84116946993 in it w/appropriate antenna, as described on many other BT threads. Just looked in the owner's manual package a no joy -- no phone manual.

I cannot get anything to show up for pairing, for putting the code in, or even for clearing the codes (the push and hold the 'face' button for 3 seconds, turn key to position 1 for 3 seconds, release button, etc., etc.).

Pulled the module out and checked the connector (purple) and the antenna (purple), both are fully inserted. Main power connector w/all the wires is locked into place too. Fuses 7 and 73 are good.

Any ideas?
