I'm at work, so please forgive my laziness. I've got an early 01 X5 and I've verified w/ a couple aftermarket kit sellers that I in fact cannot install aux into my current Business CD player. I have a friend who gave me a cd player from an 01 X5, but the software version is like 50 or 51, so does that mean I'm able to swap it in and use it or is it based more on a certain year of stereo, and if so, what years should I be looking for on the production date?

Dice Media Bridge
My X5 has Bluetooth but for music streaming, I had a Dice Media bridge from another car I installed in place of the CD changer setup for BT media . It work great with steering wheel control as well. It sucks as a BT phone device but you can deactivate that function on your phone(at least Andriods can)
