What pulley disintegrated in the garage on yours? Lol that had to be an "oh shit" moment.

The X is a great car for cross country trips in my opinion and so damn comfortable, as long as you are sorted out maintenance wise, she can go the distance in my opinion

My longest non-stop has been Hartsville, SC back to Arlington, TX. Easy to do in the X. I've pulled an Arlington to Tucson non-stop as well. My longest stretch ever though without getting out of the vehicle at all was from Arlington to Nashville - 762 miles on one tank of fuel in a 1981 Bonneville diesel!

Glad you're in Texas - enjoy the short and salt free winters. Just make sure your cooling system is in good shape - hoses, expansion tank and correct coolant to handle the heat. There's plenty of room for another X5.

Hey congrats on the move! I drove my 3.0 from AZ to MN a couple years ago and I was never uncomfortable not even once in there.
The aluminum pulley is definitely worth it if you havent gotten that one yet for that pump(if thats even the one that broke on ya)

I'm trying to find a way to move back south asap too, either AZ or TX. I got a few friends from TX and I love the hospitality they have down there!
So..flying huh...I like flying too

Anywho, glad to see the x behaved good for ya
and looks good too!
