Arrow 1730 mile road trip completed

Whats up guys...

So moved from the east coast - eastern PA, to San Antonio, TX the past day...

Finished work at 5:30 on Friday, got some final stuff together, hopped in the car at 8pm, drove until i hit Dallas, TX about 22-23hrs straight - i would have finished the trip but my contacts started messing with my eyes, stayed there sat night, got up 10am and finished the 4hr drive to San Antonio today.

As for the X, had no problems except at my first fillup when i was checking the oil in VA i had to top it off. I didnt top it off locally for a while or before i left so thats normal. I reset Consumpt2 when i left the house, and arriving here at SA - my avg was 20.2mpg..

Thats including sitting in traffic 3-4 times for 10-15 min, driving 75-80 most of the way, for a good while through TN it was 95-100. And part of Ark before Tx 85-90. I also drove around locally for a couple miles and got on it too when i stayed in dallas. All in all thats great mileage and ran like beast.

Some pics:

Just in TN-

End of tn-

Camera tilted lol - no its not a F1 track. But did have some tilt.

Here notice in front of me the euro van as well? Thing was like 100% euro spec and had a euro plate on...? No american plating etc.

Somewhere in Ark

I love how these came out, best pics i took.

Enjoy guys.

As of now permanent. Depending how work stuff is and things like that i may be visiting back from time to time still, and will try to for that. Just will probably be flying and not with the X.

Pat, dude congrats on the move, I know 100% of two things:

1) Texas (the last frontier of America) offers you so much more freedom than we get north of the Mason Dixon line.

2) After experiencing the freedom of the South, you for sure won't be coming back north.

I really wish the wife and I could find jobs down there and just pack up and make the move, I'm sick of the cost of living in NJ, with a 150k a year household we can't even make enough money to put away for ourselves, it's sad, really is.

Enjoy it down there, be safe, and be sure to visit the local gun shop and make a few purchases with your newfound American rights, must be nice to live in a state where you have a right to carry.

I thought in TX it wasn't a "right to carry" but rather an "obligation to carry"!!!

Isn't there a town where you have to get a waiver if you can't carry (say, due to age or whatever)?

Such a good trip, isn't it? Longest trip with my iS so far is the trip home when I bought it in Chicago, 06/2013. What's the avg mpg for the trip?
San Antonio is nice. My son trained there for a year in the Army, and we came for his graduation.
Best of Luck with everything.

So true.

I just hit the Bass Pro Shop indoor range in Grapevine TX yesterday.

I run 40 Hornady Critical Defense hollowpoint rounds thru both carry firearms each month. Keeps the blood pressure down and the hits "center mass"!

If the wife and I could find work down there you'd bet your ass we'd be out of Jersey in a heartbeat.
