How do you figure? Four.8is is located in Seattle and there is another member in Australia. Looks like the main nav app on the unit is IGO which is a global navigation app.

I am really interested in this HU and all the info is invaluable. I will "pull the trigger" probably sometime in May. So for now I will read and re-read all info. I do have a Q for anyone that has installed the N6 and I have not seen it addressed. Have those that have installed it kept their stock speakers? Has anyone upgraded to BavSound's speaker package or other aftermarket speakers, and which aftermarkets were installed? Thanks for any feedback

Bavsound's speakers would probably be awesome with the N6.

Is there any other reason than DSP support for going with this over the AVIN unit?

They are apples and oranges....

Read my FAQ, its question #1.

I might have to look into being a sponsor here so I can discuss things more openly in threads like these.....although most of you guys seem to be following things on the other forums well enough....

Hey hey hey looky here its Jeff from J&T! Nice to see you here again Jeff!

I just read the thread by Crystalworks where he had to dremel the edges of the AVIN2 to be able to fit into the OEM bezel space, that is one of the huge turn offs to me of the AVIN unit personally, I don't care if it boots up 1 second faster or runs on Android lol. I just wanted an OEM+ look, and DSP capability out of the box.

I agree RB... it was a bit of a downer for me too. I'm not sure why those edges aren't rounded since it is also necessary on the E39 install from what I could tell from others pics. Seems like a design flaw to me.

I also agree with everything Jeff said in his FAQ on the website regarding the difference between the Dynavins and an android based unit. I think I also mentioned it in the conclusion of the DIY. If you are tethering the unit an android setup is much more beneficial. If not, the android can be a distraction rather than an added feature.
