youry is on a distinguished road
With a baby on the way, you'll have many things to worry about. Your car should be your last problem. Imagine being stranded in the middle of nowhere with the kid/s on the back seat. And even if you don't end up stranded, you'll probably flinch at every unusual sound the car makes.
Ten years ago I bought my first X5 out of warranty (one kid at the time). Even the low outside temperature gong would almost give me a heart attack. I was constantly monitoring the cluster.
Most likely your car comes with a 6 year CPO (mine does). As I understand there is a seven year CPO which covers whatever your regular CPO covers plus radio, CD and navigation. If you're interested in keeping it that long (still 100k covered) you might want to ask your dealer how much would cost you the extra year. You already paid for the 6Y/CPO.
Good luck with your baby. The first 18 years are difficult. After that, everything is piece of cake.
