No lights, no issues at all so far.

The only minor problem was getting the exhaust to lay so it wouldn't rub the transmission mount. I went back and adjusted it before our trip, and we were golden.

what a great deal !
and what exhaust did you go with ? did you weld it?

id did the cbu clean for the intake overnight with purple power but only removed about 30% of it. made a huge mess in the house. not sure what to try next.

BuzzKen exhaust. I tightened the everloving piss out of that sheet metal clamp and its sealed nice. I still have a buddy with a tig welder ready to fix it if I have any issues.

I let my intake soak 48hrs, scrubbed it, and dropped it back in for another 36 or so. Scrubbed and rinsed and I'd say it got 90%.

I would talk to your local Napa about ultrasonic cleaning if you want better.

I left the tanks in place. Deleting them properly looked like too much work. I will have to drain them soon though.

Might use the big one for methanol storage in the future.

Like all things, familiarity comes from working on them.

Maybe it's just my nature to need to know what makes them "tick".

Just a quick update.

The car had 133365 miles when I completed the deletes. Saturday I changed the oil at 134922. I have had exactly ZERO issues with the deletes and with DUDMD's tune. I did make another adjustment to the position of the exhaust pipe, as it seems to migrate closer to the transmissions mount due to vibration.

After putting almost 10k miles on it in the first month and a half that we owned it, I asked my wife to try driving less. I guess she listened. This thing is accumulating a lot fewer miles than before.

We will be driving it out to Charleston, SC this coming weekend. I expect that trip to put somewhere around 700 miles on the car. It will be the longest trip we've taken since the deletes, so I will monitor the fuel economy on that trip.

As I've told others, the only thing I'm not really blown away with the deletes is that I haven't seen any increase in fuel economy. When the CEL came on for the DPF ash load (pre-deletes obviously) the economy dipped down from about 26mpg with mixed driving to 25mpg with mixed driving. Since the deletes, we've done an average of 25.5mpg with mixed driving.

I'm curious to see what it does on a longer trip. The last short trip my wife went on she got about 27mpg.

I took it on a short trip right after doing the deletes, and due to hot-rodding and going 90+ most of the way, it returned about 25mpg.

I was hoping that 29-30 would be more readily achieved since we were getting up to 28.6 on highway previous to deletes. But I also haven't gotten the chance to duplicate that exact trip and actually compare apples to apples.

Read your whole post here. Very informative. My 09' 35d is at 161k and luckily have not had the same issues as yours. I have had other ones though.
-The Throttle Body replaced by me after oil seeped into the electronics.
-Both front lower control arms replace by me after the bushings went bad.
-The windshield washer pump started leaking, so replaced it, and the two grommets for the front and rear pumps.
Enjoy your trip to Charleston, I was there in April.
