Btw iv had tha car back 2 weeks now and its in great shape no check engine lights and the water intrusion has been fixed. it was wires in the rear passenger side harness, they did a shitty job fixing them but at least the problem is solved.

Glad you got it resolved and that type of solderless connector is how they make wiring repairs now. Pretty crappy I agree.
Regarding taking it in for one thing and then having another seems common. I took my'08 X5 in for the airbag recall and of course they gave me a list of things wrong which was all pretty much BS. The thing they didn't tell me is when the tech took apart the dash to replace the passenger airbag, he lightly punctured the heater core causing a pin hole leak. Further when he took the center console out to replace the module he also broke the rear air vents.
All of which they denied to their last breath. Needless to say, that it wasn't too long after their "work" that I also started having all kinds of issues of the car going into limp mode and calling out the right rear TPMS as the cause of the fault. I replaced the sensor in the wheel, the receiver in the wheel well and the main receiver under the drivers door.
After all that and I was tired of throwing money at it, I sold it as a mechanics special! Still have my '13 and don't miss the problems with that '08 at all.
