You'd maybe want to look up a member history before making such a comment. @ard: would have been nice to see a link to a similar thread that OP could follow to see if it was in fact the same movie.

No, no I don’t. If there’s nothing useful to say, don’t say anything.

My response was justified. Simple suggestion actually trying to help the OP which was quoted with a pompous remark.
Back to the issue.. |

SB. I was agreeing with your suggestion. The transfer case HAS been a cause of this symptom in the past.
What are we missing here? |

I just had this issue with our F15, not that it correlates to your E70, but it's a data point. We had ~45k mile tires on it and were experiencing a tugging/hesitation/misfire sensation at different times but easily reproducible around 40mph. Replaced with a new set of rubber about a week ago (250+ miles) and have not had it happen again. I was just about to do the transfer case fluid and reset adaptations (still am, truck has 91k miles) thinking that may help. Seems the Xfer cases are very sensitive to tire diameter differences.
Other thing to check as it's quick... pull your Xfer case actuator motor and look at the gear. I'd figure you would get other symptoms with this failure, but it's worth a look given the small time investment.

That's a good call on the tire size situation. Definitely check on the tire circumference. Are they all similar wear and model tire?

So yesterday I tried dirivng with traction control off, no difference.
@crystalworks Thanks for the suggestion. My issue happens in all gears at light load and 1200-2000 rpms mostly. It is not a specific MPH range. @andrewwynn I will inspect the gear! All tires were replaced around 10k miles ago, square setup, Continental Extremecontact DWS 06. I rotate them front to back every 2 oil changes. |

If it’s worth it to you, I’d grab a set of OEM dealer coils [edit: it fixed my hesitation/stumble which was mostly same rev range.] Last edited by SB1120; 09-13-2021 at 10:17 AM. |
