After 8 years of X5 5.01 third row seat ownership, I switched to non-runflat tires 2 years ago and do not regret it. Quiet ride makes it soo much more enjoyable. My insurance policy covers 100 mile tow and I also got AAA in case some happens out of state. My 911TT had a small fixit can in the trunk, I keep one of them in the car as well.
