Which is more accurate and up-to-date?

toll-free # automated
toll-free # live
dealer
owner's circle

Definitely not Owners' Circle! I used the BMW NA 1-800# (automated) and it was very accurate! The dealer seemed to be getting conflicting information but the 1-800# appeared to be right on all the way. In my experience, customer service (the BMW NA 1-800# customer service reps) had less information than the automated description. They appeared to be reading from the Owners' Circle site!

Can anyone post the official doc stating this? My dealer says Tob Nappa is EOP 03/07 with the Tob Nevada to resume back up in 05/07. I placed my order yesterday and he had double checked with Munich on the availability.

Thanks. Just called them however they didn't seem to know anything about the availability, or lack there of, of the tobacco leather. When I placed my order at the dealer, they told me that Tobacco wasn't available in Nevada which is why I went with Napa. I'll give it a day or so and call back, perhaps there will be more news or I'll get a more informed rep.

Thats too bad, hopefully it is just a supplier issue, I doubt they would remove a color half way into a model year

OK folks I just talked to a rep too.

She was very helpful but unfortunately could only pass on the information she had- which was not much. Apparently, during the month of April NEITHER BLACK OR TOBACCO LEATHER IS AVAILABLE- IN EITHER GRADE OF LEATHER. The situation is plainly ridiculous- and gives me a good deal of concern about the quality of the first year car.

We have delayed production of our order (a loaded 4.8 in titanium silver/tobacco) until April in order to get the USB port. At this point I'm not prepared to wait until May- in order to avoid a tan interior.

The rep stated she could file a complaint and I asked her to do so. She also said many people were alarmed about the lack of black and had already filed complaints. I also asked her to file a complaint about putting this sort of information on their website and she promised to do that too.

We'll see what happens but we may postpone all together and look at other marques- as much as I love BMWs and the X5 in particular (I own two now). This is incredibly frustrating and amounts- plain and simple- to false advertising. I would urge all in this situation to file a complaint and, hopefully, make BMW realize the ramifications of their actions. Maybe their supply chain manager should be fired?

BTW the mineral green color has apparently been cancelled too. Not my choice but I would have ordered a mineral or ice (light metallic) blue in a heartbeat.
