Maybe the camera panning feature is to reactivate when you switch the rear view camera to full screen option (as it was in former days).
The maual states, that if you use the panning option the control display will switch to full screen. Maybe that the reaseon why it is not possible by the new spilt screen view. So long Christian

Looking at the '08 prices (probable if same as '07):
tech package ($2600): nav/rtti (alone is $1900) w/voice, camera, PDC What you're getting for that $700 more is the rear camera & PDC. Voice activation comes with the Nav if you order it separately. Do you people who already have it think it's worth the extra cost? Consider how often you use it + the intermittent / known problems of the camera.

I have two kids, a neighborhood full of them, and I wish I had it on my old minivan and mbz. I think the camera should be imperative as seat belts. You've all seen the octogenarians or soccer moms back up at 20mph out of a parking spot - instant death. Where's Ralph Nader?!?!
