I'm in Oz and I have booked in for 30 Oct to allow enoogh time (hopefully) for the dealer to know and love Version 27.1 of software.. all issues I have raised appear to be software related so I don't think they will have any choice but to upgrade..!

Maybe the camera panning feature is to reactivate when you switch the rear view camera to full screen option (as it was in former days).
The maual states, that if you use the panning option the control display will switch to full screen. Maybe that the reaseon why it is not possible by the new spilt screen view.

So long

Christian

Looking at the '08 prices (probable if same as '07):

tech package ($2600): nav/rtti (alone is $1900) w/voice, camera, PDC

What you're getting for that $700 more is the rear camera & PDC. Voice activation comes with the Nav if you order it separately. Do you people who already have it think it's worth the extra cost? Consider how often you use it + the intermittent / known problems of the camera.

I have two kids, a neighborhood full of them, and I wish I had it on my old minivan and mbz. I think the camera should be imperative as seat belts. You've all seen the octogenarians or soccer moms back up at 20mph out of a parking spot - instant death. Where's Ralph Nader?!?!

rear camera is worth $700, especially pdc...once we can see both at same time (v27.1) it will be worth alot more

I have just had a call for my dealer to book my car in for a software upgrade. They are offering me v27.1.2.

So it looks like the v27.1 has been superseded already.

Now that I actually have them, I think the camera should be standard on all vehicles bigger than sedans for safety reasons. Makes me feel good to ensure that none of my kids are in the garage when I back up to park. I wish I can flip a switch to turn the camera on while driving. It'll be nice to see who's tailgating me.
