Sorry to come late to my own party.....
The Hoen's looks pretty good, but not perfect. When the Xenons are on, they still look a little yellow. I might try those MTec bulbs, it's worth it for a few bucks. About the PIAAs, I have always wanted to try those. LEDs are going to be the best color and brightness, but come at a cost. A big cost. DawgBone, please keep us updated. I would love to see pics of the PIAAs on one side and either the MTec or Hoen's on the other side.

I bought the Piaa Fog bulbs and they are a pretty good match with the H.I.D. better than the Hoen's I tried, and the Piaa's are brighter. The Piaa's are more expensive though.

OK, I just ordered something different as an experiment.
I ordered a set of IPF Super Low Beam - Hyper White 5000k bulbs. They are H8 12V35W, but have an light output equivalence of 75W without drawing extra juice! (kinda like HIDs) I found them here: http://www.intakeone.com/Light_bulbs/IPF_Xbulbs.html I guess I'll be the guinea pig. I just have a hard time justifying spending the huge $$$ for the PIAAs. I'd rather spend it on my upcoming 21" tires.

I just order this Piaa H8 JDM 35W=70W Bulbs. I'll let you know how it turn out. Just installed Piaa H11 JDM bulbs for the Fog too. They are Piaa H11 JDM 55w=110w PIAA Plasma Ion Yellow H11 JDM Fog Bulb Foglights Bulbs I love the bright yellow Fog. They look sharp and color is awsome. I take some photo, but the photo is fuzzy in the dark. Didn't show the fog clearly, can see bright yellow, but it is like out of focus. my Sony Cam Suck in the dark. .I will try again tomorrow @ dawn. JDM= Japan domestic Market. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japan_Domestic_Market They are better Quality then the export items. I used JDM whenever possible. The wires/resistors just get pushed into the headlamp enclosure, behind the bulbs where they are not visible, then you canseal the enclosure up using the plug....Piaa supplies some zip ties, but I really didn't see the need for them...So maybe they're needed for the e60....In which from what I could tell from the installation pictures(instructions are in Japanese), you have to turn the LED's 90 degrees for the e60...They come out of the box, rigged for the e70 and e92... I tried to take pics during installation, but I suck behind the lens, and couldn't get good enough lighting...but you can see from the instructions how they are shoving the resistors in... stock bulb: ![]()
