That you get up sold at time of purchase to 'music to mobile' and iPhone cradle - which you pay for at time of purchase, only to be sitting here 7 months later with no iPhone cradle. WTF is up with that?

Don't know if this was said, my high beam indicator hides right behind the steering wheel. PITA always have to tilt my head to make sure it's off. Sheeesh.

I LOVE my X5. I'ts the best car I've ever driven and owned. I agree about the air conditioning turning on automatically, that's annoying. The parking distance control ranks up there for me too. I guess I just don't need it, so when it screams at me I scream back, ha. Other than that. It's a dream car. I hate driving anything else.

stupid gear changes in my 4.8...whoever was the original pragrammer needs to get a dose of reality.

then trying top find a service place that actually knows what they are on about......not these knobs who tell you they are the good service techs only to find that the only thing they are good at is bullshitting

That you can't start the car without your foot on the brake (I know I know), I like reach in to start my car (with getting all the way in) and let the AC begin to cool for various reasons (also because I have black interior and it's just way too hot).

AND that you can't back the car up with the drivers door open - when I'm hitching up my boat I like to open the door to look back (I don't have PDC)...not that I'm going down the road at 40mph with the door open, but it drives me insane because I did backed the car up with the door open in my 2004.

The electronic intervention is at times tiring - like the gong when you accidentally don't shift correctly using the stupid button on the shift lever - I hate the transmission lever.

Tires - hello BMW!!!, the 18" standard shoes on the x35d look too wimpy to be on that car.

OK, and other than that I love driving my car and the mileage is great - well at least 20MPG in town is better than 15 with the 4.4i V8.

I know it's been said but the fact that the rear climate control steals 80 percent of the front air when used is a real ass chapper to me. I have kids and occasionally, they'll hit it by accident and I don't notice until my A/C is on full blast for 30 mins straight and the car doesn't seem any cooler.

Other than that, I love my 4.8...I really do.

Three items:

1. The tranny shifter. Can't count how many times the car wash guys have a befuddled look on how to shift the car.

2. Run flats. Let us pick the type of tires we want, don't shove expensive and stiff tires down our throat. BMW lets you customize everything, why not the tires?

3. Reliability and build quality. Way too much effort is put into gizmos and not enough on building a dependable fun to drive car. Thanks to build quality and my last buy back, my BMW days are coming to an end.

1.when you think the trunk is closed, and its not.gotta slam the thing sometimes

2.NO AUX INPUT OR IPOD ADAPTER IS STANDARD?!?!?!im lookin to spend some big bucks trying to get all of this

3.most likely just me but for the rear passenger side door,it has no problem locking, but it chooses to unlock whenever it wants to.sucks when your out with friends and everyone gets in but that one guy because someone else has to open the door for him from the inside

Your #3....that's a BIG one! I've said so many times, that besides maybe with Porsche, it is very hard to beat BMW handling, road manners, brakes and sheer driving pleasure (Freude am Fahren ).

Our 2003 Z8 Alpina, a 2004 330cic, 2007 750Li, 2007 E70, 2008 E70, 2010 750i and my last 2011 E70...all had battery problems. Battery problems that several dealers could not ever fully diagnose, nor fix. I mean, it is very, very maddening and frustrating that your battery will not be ok, if your new BMW sits for a few days, or you have the doors open to vacuum the interior.

That paired with numerous interior rattles and creaks, oddly behaving and/or poorly performing HVAC, random warning messages (with NO stored fault codes), jerky transmissions, etc, etc. I still LOVE BMW, but am for sure on a BMW vacation.

We've had over 20 NEW Mercedes since 1996, and NOT one of them had a single battery issue (not saying every car was perfect though). I think in terms of build quality and materials used..BMW has for sure slipped behind Mercedes, Audi, Porsche and maybe even Lexus. It's really sad, because a BMW handles so damned well!!
