All the annoying little things that constantly need to be fixed.
So much so that I sold my X5M and I'm seriously considering trading the M Sport for a Toyota Truck.

Both X5's are in the dealer service department at least once every 6 weeks and once there they live there for the better part of a week or more.

The thought of keeping the M Sport beyond its warranty is terrifying.

You just stole the words out of my mouth. I am in the same boat and I totally second the bold thought. I think the small little problems costing $500 a visit (even under extended warranty), is just too much pain and time loss. Seriously considering Lexus or Toyota myself, even tho love the X5, but it's just not reliable and need way too deep pockets to maintain a car that claims to be a premium vehicle.

So far the most annoying thing w/ my X5 is the inability to get it into my possession. Bought one on Ebay on the 22nd and after having problems w/ 1 bank doing an out of state title transfer and such, then moved to another bank which took about 2 weeks to finally get place their money, now I'm having trouble getting a transport company move it at a decent price from FL to TX. I just want my car!!!!!!!!!

The lag on my Turbo Diesel when not in semi-manual mode (and even at times when on semi-manual or DS mode).

+1 the 8sp STEPTRONIC is a real laggard, and likes to short shift around 2500rpm ... its more like a ship's engine telegraph than a car's transmission!

I also dont like that the rear glass does not open separately like the 5 series wagon ...

and...

lastly...

I want to meet the BMW tailgate engineer that designed that horrible rough steel tailgate latch, I want him to stand under it, I hope he is bald(ing) and I want to repeatedly smack the top of his stupid head off of the sharp edge of that tailgate latch until he apologizes!

I've found the lag to be partly due to the transmission not shifting all the way down to first gear when I come to a stop. Its annoying, but manually putting it into first seems to solve the problem.

Noisy tires.
Interior noises.
Bouncy suspension (without adaptive drive).
