1) Have had 3 LCI X5s and one rear door is always misaligned. Whoever is installing the rear doors in Spartanburg is either doing this on purpose or is incompetent
2) Diesel idle is loud as hell
3) If you aren't in a fully loaded X5, your car will have rattles, creeks, weird awkward after-thought parts. I learned this the hard way

All the annoying little things that constantly need to be fixed.
So much so that I sold my X5M and I'm seriously considering trading the M Sport for a Toyota Truck.

Both X5's are in the dealer service department at least once every 6 weeks and once there they live there for the better part of a week or more.

The thought of keeping the M Sport beyond its warranty is terrifying.

Is the left-side rear passenger door by any chance? Had to take it to the dealer shortly after purchasing. Hated how it looked when illuminated doors light broke off at the door.

They are designed to dust. The pads include carbon black as a filler. Buy aftermarket pads that don't have the same filler. Or see if BMW has new pads that don't dust (they do for some current models)

So far the most annoying thing w/ my X5 is the inability to get it into my possession. Bought one on Ebay on the 22nd and after having problems w/ 1 bank doing an out of state title transfer and such, then moved to another bank which took about 2 weeks to finally get place their money, now I'm having trouble getting a transport company move it at a decent price from FL to TX. I just want my car!!!!!!!!!

You just stole the words out of my mouth. I am in the same boat and I totally second the bold thought. I think the small little problems costing $500 a visit (even under extended warranty), is just too much pain and time loss. Seriously considering Lexus or Toyota myself, even tho love the X5, but it's just not reliable and need way too deep pockets to maintain a car that claims to be a premium vehicle.

Why are they designed to dust, if I may?
