For those who are still in doubt about LCI production date check this official press release here

It says production starts April 2010.

2011 models are already populated in the dealers ordering system. Should be able to order soon.

I bought my X5 in November, and I'm not pissed.

(1) It wasn't exactly a secret that the 2011 was coming in March/April.

(2) I got a $4,500 eco credit.

(3) What most mattered to me, the new idrive, was in the 2010. I probably would have waited if i wasn't.

We'll see, but I figure I got a good deal with $4,500 credit and $3,000 under MSRP. I'm betting when the 2011 comes out in April, there'll be no eco credit and most dealers will not want to give much more than $1,000 off MSRP, if that, for the first couple of months or longer.

I might still be disappointed if they do something good with the interior, but if the exterior styling is like the most recent photos I've seen, I actually prefer the old styling... the photos I've seen show a black stripe between the painted lower bumper parts and the upper painted body parts, which looks a bit odd to me. Maybe that's just in the prototype pictures... if they end-up being completely painted, I might prefer the new styling.

That black stripe is camo tape. There is still lot of camo tape on the car. Notice closely the body colored parking sensors on rear bumper. They will not put body colored sensors on plastic black stripe.

Good to hear. It looks like the styling will be an improvement. I thought it might look a little more aggressive and be a more dramatic change, but I guess they wanted to make sure the X5M was still visually differentiated.

I do prefer the color-matched bumpers, although they are a bit more susceptible to damage. But with the colored bumpers, I think they should also go with color-matched fender flares.
